Eve’s KidCare as the name suggests was conceived out of sheer passion to cater for the needs of children academically, psycho-socially and spiritually. The welfare our children is our paramount concern. Eve’s KidCare School was established on the 1st of February 2009 with a population of 18 children, two teachers and a caregiver (Mrs. Francisca Osifo). We started with crèche and afterschool. We added Preschool one the next session, Preschool two the next, Kindergarten. We went on adding a class each session until we got to the sixth grade. We graduated our first set of pupils in 2018/2019 session. Our beginnings have indeed been humble. In this year 2021/2022 we are graduating our fifth batch of pupils. To God be the glory for His guidance and protection.
We started with superior white board marker boards and air-conditioned classrooms and comfortable desks and chairs.
We have a playground that is exciting to the pupils and a lot of rooms for other activities.
We have a shuttle bus that is efficient in conveying our pupils to and from school. The pupils never come late to school.
Corporate security personnel are operational during the day and each pupil signs in and out every school day.
We have a mini library, computer and music room. We expect to develop these to a large scale in due course. The PTF has graciously undertaken to develop the computer room. We are eagerly waiting for a positive outcome.
In recent times we have installed a solar inverter to ensure that the school has light throughout the learning period to the comfort of the pupils.
We have a wide range of subjects geared towards the development of the pupils. Subjects like spelling and dictation, handwriting, phonics, Yoruba and Igbo languages and pre-vocational all geared toward all round development of the pupils. Recently we introduced a subject called General Knowledge. We encourage the use of a dictionary which even the so called big schools ignore. We also encourage parents to speak their native dialect to their kids as this will further help their emotional development. Our curriculum is second to none. We teach out of the box and our teachers are very committed.
Our teachers go on regular training both in-house and external to ensure that they deliver adequately. We do our best to make them happy and comfortable. Imagine we paid salaries throughout the COVID lockdown. This was a feat very few schools could achieve.
PROPRITRESS’S SPEECH
Dear pupils, parents and honorable guests.
I warmly welcome you all present on this 5th Graduation and Prize-giving Day where we are gathered to celebrate success achieved by our pupils across the curriculum. Your presence is a clear indication that the welfare of our school is dear to your hearts.
I am thrilled to see the beautiful expectant faces of these graduating pupils, on this day Thursday, July 21st, 2022. I look on in excitement to see your achievements as you go to higher heights.
You and your parents have worked so hard this school year and today we celebrate your success. You have worked very hard, growing not only physically but growing in character and academic achievement. We celebrate you today.
In enhancing the social development of the pupils, culture day was organized. It was a huge success. We also organized quizzes, debates, and mathematics clinic and phonics competition. These developed the pupils mentally and grew their ability to express themselves.
I am delighted to inform you that our pupils who took the Federal Common Entrance all came out in flying colours. Thus:
In previous years we’ve had pupils like OkakaJemimah scoring 189 and gaining direct admission into Queens College and Okechukwu Blessing who scored 176. UkwuChigozirim gained admission into a league school – St Francis Catholic Secondary School. He did us proud during the interview. Many of our pupils are also doing us great in their various secondary schools. We encourage our parents to register their children into St. Francis Secondary School and other schools like it. Of course all of our pupils passed the Lagos State primary school examination.
Ladies and gentlemen, I look with great pride at our achievements and I’m very proud of our pupils and teachers. I do hope they will inspire others to achieve greater heights next session.
One of the fundamental reasons for our success as a school is the level of individual support we give to pupils to enable them achieve their full potentials. This is not an easy task. Our staff go extra mile providing extra help after the formal lessons for free. If the desks could talk they would testify to you the troubles that teachers go through with the pupils in class. Be that as it may, we thoroughly enjoy our tasks and we glorify God when we look at the young faces when the say ‘Eureka! I now know it.
Our school boasts of a serene environment conducive for learning. The classes are attractively decorated and the environment is sparkling clean. There’s still more to be done and we are not resting on our oars.
